Lect. Univ. Dr. Mihaela MITESCU-MANEA is a University Lecturer in the Department of Educational Sciences at the West University of Timişoara. She holds a PhD in Educational Sciences and has been responsible for the undergraduate Pedagogy program (2020–2023). Her research focuses on professional learning, educational equity, and socio-cultural perspectives in education, with a particular emphasis on activity theory. Mihaela has led projects funded by UEFISCDI and held fellowships at the University of Oxford and the Center for the Study of Professions in Norway. Her academic roles include serving as Convenor of Network 1: Professional Learning and Development within the European Educational Research Association (EERA) since 2018. She teaches courses such as Philosophy of Education, Educational Communication, and Organizational Culture and Leadership. Mihaela has authored books and numerous articles on themes like teachers’ digital competencies during the pandemic and curriculum reform in arts education. Research highlights include studies on educational inequities during the pandemic, teacher professional development, and integrating arts into curricula. She has received the Silver Medal at the Euroinvent 2013 Book Fair for her work on teacher professionalization. Her work bridges theory and practice, emphasizing collaborative learning and systemic educational change. Mihaela’s contributions span policy analysis, teacher training, and international collaborations, reflecting her commitment to equity and transformative education.
