Dr. Stacie Rossow is Associate Professor, Associate Chair of the Department of Music, and Associate Director of Choral and Vocal Studies at Florida Atlantic University in the College of Arts and Letters. She teaches courses in conducting, voice, literature, and research methods, and conducts the University Women’s Chorus. She holds a DMA in Choral Conducting from the University of Miami and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from FAU. Bachelor of Music, Florida Atlantic University Master of Music, Florida Atlantic University Doctor of Musical Arts, University of Miami Her research centers on Irish choral music, particularly the works of composer Michael McGlynn. She was awarded the Theodore Presser Award for her doctoral thesis, The Choral Music of Irish Composer Michael McGlynn , which is archived in the Irish Traditional Music Archive in Dublin. Her expertise extends to choral pedagogy, vocal training, and ear-training methodologies. She has presented her research at national conferences including those of the National Association for Music Education, College Music Society, and National Collegiate Choral Organization. Dr. Rossow has been actively involved with Anúna, an Irish choral ensemble, serving as studio conductor for four recordings and teaching at the inaugural Anúna Summer School in Dublin. Her work bridges academic scholarship and performance practice, with a strong focus on contemporary choral composition and the development of a national choral school in Ireland. Her accolades include: Theodore Presser Award for Research in Music Faculty Talon Award for Excellence in Leadership, Florida Atlantic University (2015) As a clinician and adjudicator, Dr. Rossow mentors students through ensemble leadership and research supervision. The Florida Atlantic University Women’s Chorus, under her direction, was selected to perform at the Florida ACDA Conference in November 2017. She has premiered several works by Michael McGlynn and continues to shape the field through performance, research, and education.
