Kazuri Arai is an Assistant Professor in the Music Production and Engineering (MP&E) department at Berklee College of Music, where she also earned her dual Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Production and Engineering and Songwriting in 2004. She is actively engaged in teaching and lecturing at Berklee, Belmont University, and Interlochen Center for the Arts, focusing on career development, entrepreneurship, and the modern music business landscape.
Her research and professional interests span music production, audio engineering, music technology, songwriting, and music entrepreneurship. With over 19 years of experience as an assistant engineer to George Massenburg, Arai has worked with renowned artists such as Alicia Keys, Jack White, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and The Subdudes. She is the founder of Anything Kreativ and serves as General Manager of George Massenburg Labs, bridging industry expertise with academic instruction.
Kazuri Arai is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and has participated in significant projects including the Acura/Panasonic ELS Studio recording sessions in Tokyo with Elliot Scheiner and METalliance educational workshops. Her work emphasizes empowering independent artists and navigating the evolving music industry.
