Dr. Anita Zhao is an Associate Professor in the School of Management at Swansea University , part of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences . She holds a PhD from the University of Gloucestershire Business School and has extensive industry experience in aviation, tourism, and export sectors in China. Her research focuses on consumer behavior, sustainable consumption, and digital payment systems. She has secured grants totaling over £50k, including a Wiley-funded Tourism Impact Assessment and a BA/Leverhulme Grant for studying 'Buy Now Pay Later' (BNPL) impacts on younger consumers. Teaching roles include Module Leader for Consumer Behavior and Marketing Research , alongside program directorships and leadership in the Marketing Subject Group (2017–2022). Recognized as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) , she emphasizes technology-enhanced learning, including a grant-funded initiative using marketing simulations. Her research explores BNPL dynamics, sustainable consumption drivers (e.g., cultural values and eco-identity), and the role of digital innovations in retail and banking.
