David Bradley is an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist Program at Uniformed Services University's Graduate School of Nursing. A Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force, he holds a D.N.P. from the University of Alabama, an M.S.N. from USUHS, and a B.S.N. from the University of Texas at El Paso. His 18-year military nursing career spans perioperative, medical-surgical, and case management roles, including leadership at DOD's largest Level 1 Trauma Center. His research focuses on infection prevention, sterile processing, surgical safety, and evidence-based practice innovations. Recent work examines ATP-based cleanliness verification, sterilization efficiency, and non-pharmacological pain management. His publications consistently address perioperative safety and military healthcare optimization. Major awards include: Clinical Nurse Specialist Institute Fellowship (2023) AORN Academic Achievement Award (2023) Dean's Awards for Teaching/Scholarly Excellence (2021-2022) Advanced Practice Nurse of the Year (2018) He has received military honors including the Meritorious Service Medal (twice) and Combat Action Badge.
