Daniel Kohane

Dr. Daniel Kohane is a Professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School and a Senior Associate in Pediatric Critical Care at Boston Children's Hospital, where he directs the Laboratory for Biomaterials and Drug Delivery. He holds an MD and PhD in Physiology from Boston University School of Medicine (1990) and completed residencies in Pediatrics (Boston Children's Hospital, 1991), Anesthesiology (Boston Combined Residency Program, 1995), and a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care (Boston Children's Hospital, 1997). His research focuses on drug delivery, biomaterials, and nanomedicine, addressing conditions like pain, otitis media, ophthalmic diseases, sepsis, and cancer. Recent work emphasizes nanoparticle targeting, hydrogel systems, and dynamic covalent chemistry for controlled drug release.
