Professor Patricia Schofield is a leading academic in Pain & Ageing, focusing on chronic pain management, geriatric care, and technology-driven interventions for vulnerable populations. She has secured over £3 million in grants for projects such as ESRC-funded research on patient-driven research agendas and MRC-supported self-management strategies for chronic pain in older adults. Her work includes a COST collaborative project on pain assessment in those with cognitive impairment and an SBRI project on chatbot-based pain management.
Prof. Schofield has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers (H-index 20) and 15 books/chapters, addressing topics like pain in dementia, frailty, and healthcare technology.
