Dr. Matthew Grosse is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Business School, serving as Program Director for the Master of Business Analytics and Accounting Honours Program Coordinator. He holds a PhD in Accounting from UTS (2010–2014) and a Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Finance. His research focuses on Australian listed companies, examining intersections between accounting information and capital markets, corporate governance, CEO compensation, and auditing economics. Matthew has taught at UTS since 2014 and has international experience at the London School of Economics and London Business School. He actively supervises Master’s and PhD students. Research interests include auditing standards, going concern disclosures, executive compensation dynamics, and market reactions to financial information. His work has been published in journals like Contemporary Accounting Research and Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory . Awards include UTS and AFAANZ scholarships during his PhD. Funded research explores information intermediaries' roles in equity markets, audit committee strategies, and the impact of bank loans and resource announcements on market valuations. Key contributions address audit committee financial expert selection, interim review report disclosures, and compensation consultant influences. Matthew collaborates with industry via Open Briefings and investor presentations, emphasizing practical applications of his research findings.
