Gerhard Hambusch is an Associate Professor in the Finance Discipline Group at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), serving as Deputy Associate Dean (International Engagement). His research focuses on ethics in finance, corporate governance, and the behavioral impacts of human decisions in capital markets. He holds a PhD and MBA from the University of Wyoming, along with master's degrees from Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and EM Strasbourg Business School.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and actively contributes to policy advocacy through CFA Societies Australia & New Zealand. His teaching excellence has earned awards from the Australian government and UTS. Key research areas include gender equity on corporate boards, insider trading ethics, and fundamental indexation strategies.
Recent leadership roles include managing industry engagement for UTS Finance and overseeing international student programs. His funded research includes projects on carbon savings investment choices and time-series momentum in sovereign bonds.
