Aleksey Yerokhin is a Senior Lecturer in Surface Engineering of Materials at the University of Manchester's Department of Materials. His expertise spans plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO), corrosion protection, and functional coatings for advanced materials. He holds a PhD in Physical-Chemical Processes from Tula State University (1995) and a Master's in Materials Engineering (1986). Research focuses on sustainable materials and biomedical devices via electrolytic plasma processes. He pioneered pulsed bipolar PEO technology and spectroscopic diagnostics, contributing to global PEO advancements. He is a key figure in the European PEO network and has organized major conferences like ICMCTF and Euromat. His work aligns with UN SDGs for sustainable materials and energy. Publications emphasize PEO's role in corrosion resistance, ceramic coatings, and AI-driven optimization. Notable awards include membership in the American Ceramic Society (2012) and International Society of Electrochemistry (2004). He supervises PhD students and collaborates globally, including with National University of Science and Technology MISiS (Visiting Professor). His research beacons include the Henry Royce Institute and Christabel Pankhurst Institute, focusing on advanced materials and biotechnology.
