Alicia Durán

Alicia Durán is a Research Professor at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), leading the GlaSS Research Group at the Ceramics and Glass Institute (ICV-CSIC). She holds a Physics degree from the University Nacional de Córdoba (1974) and a PhD in Physics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1984). Her work focuses on designing sustainable glass and glass-ceramic materials for energy, photonics, and corrosion protection, addressing global challenges like energy efficiency and emissions reduction.

She actively promotes international collaboration and science communication, contributing to initiatives like the United Nations International Year of Glass (2022).
