Yazeed Qashwa

Yazeed Qashwa is an Assistant Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Queen Margaret University (Edinburgh), affiliated with the Dietetics, Nutrition & Biological Sciences, Physiotherapy, Podiatry & Radiography Division. He holds memberships in the Clinical Motion Analysis Society (UK) and the Physiotherapy Pain Association (UK). His background includes clinical roles in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy and academic/research activities across multiple institutions.

Yazeed earned his MSc Physiotherapy (Distinction) from Glasgow Caledonian University, focusing on advanced clinical practice, teaching strategies in higher education, and transitioning to hybrid learning models. He has presented at international conferences, including the World Physiotherapy Congress (2021) and QAA UK’s Evolving Student Engagement Conference (2021).

His research interests span neuromusculoskeletal pain management, biomechanics (gait analysis), falls prevention in older adults, cognitive behavioral therapy integration, and inclusive curricula design. Methodologically, he employs quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches, including systematic reviews and Delphi studies.

Teaching responsibilities include neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy, clinical reasoning, interdisciplinary teamwork, and dissertation supervision across BSc and MSc programs. He is a member of Queen Margaret University’s Centre for Health, Activity and Rehabilitation Research (CHEARR).
