Georgia Tarfali is an International Academic Moderator in the Division of Dietetics, Nutrition & Biological Sciences, Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Radiography at Queen Margaret University (QMU). She holds an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde and is currently pursuing a PhD in balance control and human movement in older adults. Additionally, she completed a PgCert in Higher Education at Strathclyde. Her role at QMU involves moderating modules for undergraduate validated courses in Greece, including Academic Skills in Physiotherapy, Research Methods, and Applied Anatomy.
- Research Focus: Human balance, rehabilitation technology, quantitative movement analysis, and musculoskeletal medicine.
- Clinical Experience: Over 17 years as a clinical physiotherapist specializing in musculoskeletal therapy, clinical Pilates, and acupuncture (AACP-accredited).
- Affiliations: Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP), Clinical Movement Analysis Society (CMAS), and Later Life Training membership (LLTR).
As a Research Physiotherapist at Glasgow Royal Infirmary’s Clinical Research Facilities, she collaborates with engineers on interdisciplinary projects like Total Knee Replacement trials (TRUCK) and rehabilitation engineering (RESOA). Her teaching expertise spans human anatomy, biomechanics, and neuromusculoskeletal interventions.
