Sarah Blake is an Associate Professor and Director of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Center of Excellence at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. She also serves as Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Health Policy and Management. Her work focuses on health equity in reproductive and maternal health, particularly for low-income and underserved populations. Blake collaborates with the CDC, Georgia Department of Public Health, and community organizations to address maternal mortality and health disparities.
Education:
- PhD: Georgia Institute of Technology/Georgia State University joint doctoral program in Public Policy
- MA: The George Washington University
Research Interests: Maternal and child health, health disparities, public health policy, cancer prevention, and implementation science. Blake’s projects examine social determinants of health, access to care for underserved women, and policy interventions to reduce maternal mortality. She has led initiatives with the Georgia Maternal Mortality Review Committee and Winship Cancer Institute.

Teaching & Leadership: Teaches graduate courses in women’s health policy, qualitative research methods, and maternal and child health. Supervises thesis and directed study projects. Serves on national and state committees addressing maternal health crises.
Labs/Teams: Leads the MCH Center of Excellence and collaborates with the Winship Cancer Institute, Prevention Research Center, and Emory’s COVID-19 Response Collaborative.
