Sarah Caroline Blake is an Associate Professor and Director of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Center of Excellence at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health, where she also serves as Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Health Policy and Management. A native Georgian, she applies a health equity lens to address systemic barriers in women's healthcare access and quality.
Dr. Blake holds an MA from The George Washington University and a PhD from the joint Public Policy program at Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia State University. Her research focuses on reducing health disparities in maternal and reproductive health for low-income and uninsured populations through policy analysis and community-engaged approaches.
Her current work examines social determinants of maternal morbidity and mortality in partnership with the CDC and Georgia Department of Public Health, while collaborating with community organizations to address Georgia's maternal health crisis. She previously served for five years on the Georgia Maternal Mortality Review Committee.

As Director of Graduate Studies, she oversees thesis supervision and teaches graduate courses including Women's Health Policy and Foundations in MCH. Her institutional leadership extends to the Winship Cancer Institute, Prevention Research Center, and Emory COVID-19 Response Collaborative.
