Kevin Ward is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, serving as Director of the Georgia Center for Cancer Statistics and Principal Investigator (PI) for the National Cancer Institute’s Georgia SEER Registry. With over 25 years in cancer surveillance, he specializes in registry operations, data security, and population-based research.
Education: PhD and MPH from Emory University; BIE from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Research Interests: Focuses on cancer prevention, surveillance systems, genomics, and health disparities. Leads initiatives integrating machine learning, precision surveillance, and enhanced treatment data linkage to improve cancer outcomes.
Grants & Collaborations:
- Georgia SEER Registry (PI): Tracks cancer trends statewide.
- Co-I on projects addressing genetic testing disparities, ovarian cancer survivor outreach, and recurrence surveillance.
- Leads efforts in registry data integration with genomic testing companies and federal programs.
