Bozena M. Morawski

Bozena M. Morawski is an SPPH Affiliate Faculty at Boise State University and serves as an epidemiologist at the Idaho Hospital Association (IHA). Her work focuses on cancer registry programs, including the Cancer Data Registry of Idaho and Idaho’s Time-Sensitive Emergency Registry. She co-leads the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) contract with the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Morawski chairs NAACCR’s Data Security and Confidentiality Work Group and holds board roles in NAACCR.

Education: BA in International Relations (Bucknell University), MPH in Epidemiology (UCLA), and PhD in Epidemiology (University of Minnesota). Former CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer assigned to Idaho’s Department of Health and Welfare.

Research emphasizes health disparities influenced by geography, cancer survival outcomes, and population-level cancer risk factors. Active in public health surveillance and data security initiatives.

Labs/Teams: Collaborates through Idaho Hospital Association registries and NAACCR initiatives. Serves as co-Principal Investigator for NCI-funded SEER program.
