Marlo Vernon is an Associate Professor at Augusta University, jointly appointed in the Medical College of Georgia and the School of Public Health. She holds affiliations with the Department of Georgia Prevention Institute, Institute for Public and Preventive Health, Community & Behavioral Health Sciences, and Obstetrics and Gynecology, reflecting her interdisciplinary work in public health and maternal-child outcomes.

She contributes to university governance through the Lyceum Committee and Purposeful Choice Committee. Her teaching includes courses in oncology and healthcare policy, and she mentors students in public health research and innovation.
She is involved in collaborative research teams focused on maternal health, cancer prevention, and community health equity, working across institutional lines to implement and evaluate public health programs.
