Rumina Dhalla is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics, University of Guelph. She serves as Director of the Institute for Sustainable Commerce and held leadership roles in the Guelph East Africa Initiative. Her expertise spans organizational identity, reputation management, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability strategies.
Dr. Dhalla holds an MBA and PhD from Schulich School of Business, York University. She teaches graduate courses on sustainability, organizational theory, and leadership.
Her research focuses on how organizations balance identity, reputation, and sustainability goals, particularly in high-risk environments. She has conducted impactful studies on reputational risk, CSR in fragile states, and social enterprise solutions to food insecurity.
Key awards include major SSHRC grants (2009, 2011) and Schulich School of Business research awards (2004–2007). She holds leadership positions at global organizations like UN Global Compact Network Canada and PRME.
Her teaching and research are complemented by 20+ years in Canadian banking and adjunct roles at Schulich School of Business.
