Dr. Diana Mok is an Associate Professor at the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics, University of Guelph, where she joined in 2024. Previously, she spent 19 years at Western University. Her research focuses on real estate economics, urban economic geography, and spatial analysis, emphasizing the interplay between housing market risks and urban development. She teaches courses in real estate market analysis, urban economics, and real estate finance.
Her 2023 study, Are riskier cities more compact?, explores how housing market risks influence urban compactness using satellite and census data from Canada's largest metropolitan areas. This work employs advanced spatial modeling to analyze price risk and land coverage, contributing critical insights for urban planners and policymakers.
Dr. Mok’s expertise includes GIS, quantitative methods, and the socio-economic dimensions of urban development. Her scholarship bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in real estate policy.
