Prof. Dr. Rosemarie Will is a full professor of Public Law, Political Science, and Legal Theory at Humboldt University of Berlin's Faculty of Law. Her career spans roles as Dean of the Faculty of Law (1990–1993), Constitutional Judge of Brandenburg (1996–2006), and Federal Chair of the Humanist Union (2005–present). She specializes in constitutional law, human rights, and German reunification legal challenges. Her research focuses on judicial reform, civil liberties, and the legal transformation of East Germany.
Education: Studied law at Humboldt University (1969–1973), habilitation in 1983. Key roles include membership in the SPD Basic Values Commission and participation in drafting the GDR's post-reunification constitution. Notable contributions include analyses of property rights post-unification and human dignity in jurisprudence.
Publications span over 50 works, including studies on the Federal Constitutional Court, euthanasia legalization, and religious freedom. She has advised doctoral students and engaged in international collaborations, such as research stays in Russia and Switzerland.
