Professor Christopher McCrudden is a leading academic in human rights law at Queen's University Belfast (QUB), School of Law. He holds a Professorial position and is affiliated with the Human Rights Centre and the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice. His research focuses on human rights theory, the concept of human dignity, and the legal implications of Brexit on Northern Ireland. He has supervised PhD students in areas like freedom of expression in Nepal, gender equality among barristers, and post-Yugoslav equality frameworks.
McCrudden has received notable awards including a CBE for services to human rights law, and fellowships from the British Academy and Royal Irish Academy.
