Dagmar Schiek is a Full Professor of EU Law and Labour Law at University College Dublin's Sutherland School of Law, where she directs the ERC-funded RIGHTS TO UNITE project developing a socio-legal theory of European integration. Her research examines EU non-discrimination law, intersectionality, and social governance.
Schiek holds a Jean Monnet Chair and has led multiple EU research consortia, including projects on economic/social constitutionalism post-Lisbon and Brexit's impact on Ireland. She has drafted gender equality legislation for German states and serves on pension fund investment committees.
Her scholarship critically analyzes multidimensional discrimination through the lens of race, gender, and disability. Recent publications explore the disintegration risks of Brexit for Northern Ireland and the constitutional conditioning of EU internal markets.
