معرفی
Christoph Möllers is a Permanent Fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg and Professor of Public Law and Legal Philosophy at Humboldt University of Berlin. Born in 1969 in Bochum, Germany, he studied Law and Comparative Literature at universities in Tübingen, Munich, and Chicago. His current research project, 'Art—Liberty—Freedom of Art,' examines tensions in artistic freedom during culture wars, probing legal protections for publicly funded art and connections between political, legal, and aesthetic theory.
Möllers' research spans:
- Constitutional law and democratic theory, particularly regarding federal systems
- Legal philosophy exploring normativity beyond moral frameworks
- Institutional designs for democracy preservation
- Aesthetic freedom's relationship to political liberty
- Legitimacy of governance mechanisms like behavioral nudging
His publications consistently address constitutional theory, normative practice, and institutional mechanics. Recent works analyze democratic trilemmas in federations, contextual jurisprudence, and the German Constitutional Court's role. A strong interdisciplinary trend connects legal theory with political philosophy, social practice, and transnational governance.
Möllers regularly organizes academic workshops including 'Observatorium: Wie viel Theorie braucht das Recht?' (2024) and 'Constitutionalisms in Europe' (2016). He contributes to the Zeitschrift für Ideengeschichte journal, editing issues on thinkers like Habermas and Adorno.
