Nairam Simoes is an Assistant Professor of Trumpet in the Department of Music at Arkansas State University, part of the College of Liberal Arts and Communication. An accomplished performer and educator, he maintains an active international presence as a trumpet artist, clinician, and recording artist.
His research and artistic interests focus on trumpet performance, music education, orchestral and chamber music, and Brazilian musical traditions. He is dedicated to pedagogy, having developed a vibrant trumpet program where students have gained admission to top graduate schools and secured teaching and performance positions across primary, secondary, and university levels.
Dr. Simoes has received international recognition for his album Braziliana, which earned a silver medal at the Global Music Awards. His editorial work for the International Trumpet Guild Journal highlights leading orchestral trumpet players, contributing to the scholarly discourse in brass performance.
