Margalida Torrens Mas

Margalida Torrens Mas is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Fundamental Biology and Health Sciences at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). Her research focuses on cancer cell energy metabolism, sirtuin 3's role in cancer treatment, pancreatic cancer stroma effects, and age-associated sarcopenia. She holds a PhD from UIB (2018) with an International Mention and completed postdoctoral research at IDIBAPS and IdISBa. She is affiliated with the GMOT (Multidisciplinary Group of Translational Oncology).

Teaching includes undergraduate and master's courses in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biomedical Research, such as 'Biochemistry', 'Metabolic Integration of Tissues', and 'Advanced Experimental Strategy'. She has contributed to 33 peer-reviewed articles and 2 book chapters, alongside 35+ conference presentations.

Her research explores cancer metabolism, aging mechanisms, and translational oncology, with current projects addressing stromal roles in pancreatic cancer and strategies to delay aging. She actively participates in the GMOT group and maintains profiles on ORCID and ResearcherID.
