Margalida Torrens Mas

Margalida Torrens Mas is a Full Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), affiliated with the Department of Fundamental Biology and Health Sciences. She is a member of the Multidisciplinary Group in Translational Oncology (GMOT). Her research focuses on cancer metabolism, pancreatic cancer stroma roles, and aging-related sarcopenia, with 33 peer-reviewed articles and 2 book chapters. She holds a PhD (2018) with international distinction from UIB, followed by postdoctoral research at IDIBAPS and IdISBa.

Teaching: Teaches courses in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology Techniques, Systems Bioinformatics, and Metabolic Integration across undergraduate and master's programs in Biochemistry and Biomedical Research.

Research Contributions: Over 35 conference presentations and active participation in GMOT. Her work explores metabolic targets in cancer therapy, stromal interactions in pancreatic cancer, and strategies to combat aging-related muscle loss.
