Justin Parkhurst

Dr. Justin Parkhurst is an Associate Professor of Global Health Policy and Deputy Head of Department (Teaching) at the London School of Economics and Political Science's Department of Health Policy. He specializes in global health politics, evidence-based policy, and governance frameworks for health decision-making. His research emphasizes the political dimensions of evidence use in policy, including projects like the ERC-funded GRIP-Health programme and the SEIHPA initiative studying evidence systems in Africa. He co-leads the MSc in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing and chairs the LSE Global Health Initiative. His work bridges academic research with policy implementation, focusing on malaria control, HIV/AIDS, maternal health, and health systems development in low- and middle-income countries.

Research interests include the intersection of evidence, politics, and policy design, with a focus on institutional mechanisms for evidence governance.
