John Woger

John Woger is the Director of Bands at Menomonee Falls High School in Wisconsin, serving since 1990. He also holds a Lecturer position at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), directing the Youth Wind Ensemble (UWAY) and conducting UWM Honors Band festivals in 2000 and 2003. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UWM and has served as Principal Conductor for the UWM Youth Wind Ensemble II (UWAY II).

His work in music education and band leadership has garnered significant accolades. The Menomonee Falls Band program was named a Grammy Signature School and received the American School Band Directors Association Dale C. Harris Exemplary Band Award as first runner-up. Ensembles under his direction have collaborated with prestigious groups like the United States Navy Brass Quintet and Doc Severinsen. He advocates for contemporary music, having commissioned five new band works through the Wisconsin Alliance of Composers.

As a trumpeter, Mr. Woger performs with the Wisconsin Wind Orchestra, The Bach Chamber Choir Orchestra, and Milwaukee-area jazz ensembles. He is an active guest conductor, composer, and clinician, emphasizing collaboration and innovation in music education.
