Rosemary Walzer is a music educator and saxophonist affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) and Maple Dale Elementary School. She serves as Director of the UWM Youth Jazz Ensemble and Director of Bands at Maple Dale. Her career emphasizes jazz education, including program development, teaching, and lecturing on jazz history and appreciation. She holds a BM in Music Education from Heidelberg University (2006) and an MM in Instrumental Conducting from UWM (2011).
Her research interests focus on jazz pedagogy, instrumental conducting, and ensemble performance. She has collaborated with institutions like the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music and the Woody Herman Jazz Festival, serving as a clinician and guest lecturer. Her performance credits include roles with the Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra, Racine Symphony Orchestra, and her jazz combo Rosemary and Time, with recorded works such as Welcome to Swingsville!
