Don Sipe

Donald Sipe is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Music at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), specializing in trumpet and horn education. His career spans diverse musical genres, including classical, jazz, rock, and Broadway, with performances across renowned orchestras and ensembles.

Research/Performance Interests: Sipe is a versatile performer, collaborating with groups like Present Music, Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, and Isthmus Brass. He has performed with luminaries such as Leonard Bernstein, Ray Charles, and Aretha Franklin, and has recorded for TV/radio commercials and theatrical tracks. His work includes solo performances, chamber music (e.g., Chicago Symphony Orchestra Brass Ensemble), and brass quintet arrangements.

Teaching & Mentorship: Sipe has taught at Carroll University, Carthage College, and led masterclasses at DePaul University and Eastman School of Music. He contributes to the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra through conducting brass choirs and masterclasses.

Labs/Teams: Engaged with Present Music, Milwaukee Symphony, and the Brass Band of Battle Creek. His chamber affiliations include the Summit Brass and Fulcrum Point New Music Ensemble.
