David Zaharoff is a Professor in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at NC State University and UNC-Chapel Hill. His research focuses on developing localized immunotherapy delivery systems for cancer, esophageal disorders, and infectious diseases. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
His work emphasizes biomaterials-based strategies to control immune responses, aiming to reduce systemic side effects and enhance treatment efficacy. Key research areas include cancer immunotherapy, vaccine delivery, and immuno-engineering solutions for substance abuse.
