Joel Collier is the Theodore Kennedy Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Associate Dean for Doctoral Education at Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering. He holds a PhD from Northwestern University (2003). His research focuses on designing biomaterials to control adaptive immune responses, particularly using self-assembling peptides, proteins, and bioconjugates to create nanofibers, gels, and particles for biomedical applications like treating infectious diseases, cancer, and chronic inflammation.
