معرفی
Yaoying Wu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical & Chemical Engineering at Syracuse University, affiliated with the Bioinspired Institute. Her research focuses on engineering biomaterials to regulate immune functions for therapeutic applications, particularly in cancer immunotherapy and vaccine design. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, an M.S. from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and a B.E. from Tianjin University. Postdoctoral training included Duke University and the University of Chicago.
Research interests include synthetic biomaterials, peptide assembly, immunoengineering, and vaccine development. Her work integrates biomaterial platforms to modulate immune responses via controlled delivery of molecular stimuli. Notable contributions include supramolecular peptide nanofiber vaccine platforms and AAV-CRISPR genome editing studies.
- Awards: Duke Incubation Fund (Co-PI, 2019), American Chemical Society Excellence in Graduate Polymer Research Award (2014)
- Labs/Teams: Leads the Wu Lab at Syracuse University, part of the Bioinspired Institute
Her research missions include harnessing immunity for therapeutics, advancing immunobiology understanding, and fostering inclusive education in biomedical engineering. Current projects emphasize orchestrating cellular dynamics for immune modulation and localized immune responses for disease treatment.
