David King is a Visiting Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University (OSU), specializing in glass art and contemporary craft practices. He holds an MFA from Tyler School of Art and Architecture (2011) and has undertaken residencies at institutions including WheatonArts, Pilchuck Glass School, and Sunderland University (UK). His work explores the intersection of historical manufacturing techniques and modern innovation, producing installations and artifacts that challenge conventional craft practices. Exhibitions of his work have been featured at the Corning Museum of Glass, including its 2019 New Glass Now exhibition.
King’s research interests focus on the fusion of tradition and technology in handmade objects, with a particular emphasis on glass as a medium. He has received awards from institutions such as the University of the Arts (Philadelphia), Pilchuck Glass School, and Contemporary Craft (Pittsburgh). His academic contributions span computational linguistics and NLP, reflected in peer-reviewed publications addressing sequence-to-sequence models, surface realization, and adversarial attacks on sentiment analysis systems.
