Kimberly Harty

Kimberly Harty is an Assistant Professor of Glass at the Studio Art & Craft school within the College for Creative Studies. She holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design.

Research Focus: Her work examines the intersection of craft and technology through sculpture, installation, video, and performance, grounded in her expertise as a glass blower. She explores how kinetic knowledge is tracked, embodied, and performed in artistic contexts.

Professional Activities: Harty has exhibited nationally at institutions like the Chrysler Museum of Art, Toledo Museum of Art, and Corning Museum of Glass. She has taught at prestigious schools including the School of the Art Institute Chicago, Ox-bow Art School, and Penland School of Crafts.
