Jack Wax is a Professor of Glass in the Department of Craft/Material Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts. He holds an MFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BFA from Temple University's Tyler School of Art. His career spans teaching roles at institutions including Temple University, the University of the Arts, and the Cleveland Institute of Art.
Wax has received significant recognition, including two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships and multiple grants. His creative work has been showcased through residencies at the Corning Museum of Glass, Cam Ocagi in Istanbul, and the Tittot Museum in Taipei. His practice emphasizes glass art and material experimentation, informed by international collaborations and institutional partnerships.
