Professor Charlie Lloyd is a faculty member at the University of York, affiliated with the School for Business and Society and the Social Policy and Social Work Department. He serves as Co-Director of the ESRC Vulnerability and Policing Futures Research Centre, focusing on intersections between policing and vulnerability, particularly in drug-related contexts.
Research Expertise:
- Drug use in prisons and post-release rehabilitation
- Police discretion in cannabis possession enforcement
- Stigmatisation of substance users
- Drug Consumption Rooms and recovery capital
- Class A drug users outside treatment systems
Key Projects: ESRC-funded Policing Futures Research Centre, NIHR-funded study on out-of-treatment opiate users.
