Dr Amy Loughery is a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds' School of Law, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences. She is affiliated with the ESRC Vulnerability and Policing Futures Research Centre, where she contributes to projects like the Leeds Mapping project, County Lines demonstration project, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) initiatives. Her work focuses on criminal justice responses to vulnerable groups, drug policy, and innovative research methods.

Research Interests: Dr Loughery’s research examines the intersection of social policy, criminology, and law, with a focus on drug courts, policing strategies for vulnerable populations, and multi-agency welfare approaches. She employs innovative qualitative methods such as narrative techniques and graphic elicitation to engage marginalized groups.
Key Projects: She co-led the N8 Police Research Partnership project on County Lines 'cuckooing' victimization, producing an award-winning impact toolkit, VR training modules, and webinars. Her work with the Cuckooing Research and Prevention Network includes policy submissions to Parliament and co-chairing symposiums.
Professional Contributions: Member of the Centre for Criminal Justice Studies (Leeds), Social Research Association, and co-editor of the Routledge volume Cuckooing Victimisation: County Lines and Beyond.
