Professor Brooke Rogers OBE is a Professor of Behavioural Science and Security at King’s College London’s Department of War Studies, and Vice Dean (People & Planning) in the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. She holds leadership roles in national and international committees, including Chair of the Home Office Science Advisory Council and the Cabinet Office’s National Risk Assessment Behavioural Science Expert Group. Her research focuses on risk communication, public responses to extreme events like CBRN incidents, and resilience strategies in health and security contexts. She has led over £25 million in collaborative projects and advised governmental bodies and international organizations such as NATO and OECD. Notable awards include an OBE and the 2015 CIR Risk Management Award. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to public health and safety.
Education: Doctor of Social Science from Royal Holloway, University of London (2002).
Research interests span: CBRN terrorism, violent radicalization, community resilience, and pandemic response. Key projects include the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Emergency Preparedness and the PRACTICE EU project on CBRN resilience.
Publications highlight behavioral responses to crises, such as marauding attacks and radiological threats, with recent work addressing pandemic communication and ADHD research gaps. She maintains memberships in 40+ advisory groups and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles.
