Dr. Jennifer Cole is a Senior Lecturer in Global and Planetary Health at Royal Holloway, University of London. She serves as Director of Research for the Department of Health Studies and Course Director for the MA Global Health: Culture, Society and Behaviour and MSc Global Health: Human Health and the Environment. Her research focuses on health risks, resilience, evolutionary biology, and health information systems, with an emphasis on climate change, antimicrobial resistance, and global health security.
Education: PhD in Health Information from Online Discussion Forums (Royal Holloway, 2017); BA in Archaeology and Anthropology (University of Cambridge, 1992). External roles include Associate Fellow at RUSI, Co-chair of the Planetary Health Alliance European Hub Education Working Group, and WHO Infodemic Manager. She has led projects on climate-AMR linkages, antibiotic resistance in India, and pandemic mutual aid groups.
Current projects include CLIMAR (BBSRC-funded), Kenya-UK-LMIC fish genomics, and heat stress in Cambodian construction. Past contributions include work on antibiotic use in Indian livestock and pandemic response frameworks. Awards include the 2021 Best Oral Presentation Award.
