Alicia Davis is a Senior Lecturer in the Sociological & Cultural Studies department at the University of Glasgow and an Associate in the School of Health & Wellbeing. A cultural anthropologist specializing in Global Health and Social-Environmental Systems, her work bridges anthropology with veterinary science, epidemiology, and ecology to address health and conservation challenges in East Africa.

Research Interests span a One Health framework, integrating zoonotic disease dynamics, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and climate change impacts on pastoralist communities. Her projects prioritize community-driven solutions and interdisciplinary collaboration with health/natural scientists.
Current Projects include SNAP-AMR (MRC-funded), OOHTZ (BBSRC-funded), and NSF-supported drought impact studies in Northern Tanzania. She leads research on neglected parasites like Taenia multiceps through community education initiatives.
Grants include BBSRC, MRC, NSF, and DFID funding for livestock health, AMR, and climate resilience initiatives.
Students she supervises explore topics like climate change impacts on mental health in Bangladesh, malaria control in Tanzania, and nomadic healthcare access in Somaliland.
