Dr Rebecca King is a Professor of Global Health and Community Engagement at the Nuffield Centre for International Health and Development, University of Leeds, where she serves as Head of the Centre. Her work focuses on participatory community-based interventions, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and qualitative health research in low- and middle-income countries.

Professor King leads the MRC-funded COSTAR study (Community Solutions to Antimicrobial Resistance) in Bangladesh and Nepal, exploring community dialogues integrated into health systems to combat AMR. She also co-leads the global CE4AMR network and has directed ESRC, HEFCE, and AHRC-MRC projects addressing antibiotic misuse through participatory methods. Her methodological expertise lies in applied qualitative research across 30+ projects in diverse regions.

She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate modules and supervises students researching community engagement, AMR, and socio-cultural health dynamics in LMICs.
