Dr David Crouch is a part-time Senior Lecturer in CBRN at Cranfield University's Forensic Institute and a visiting professor at the University of Hertfordshire. With over 30 years of professional experience in CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) defence, he has delivered operational support, education, and training to international agencies including NATO, Interpol, DTRA, and DARPA. He is also the technical director at United CBRN Limited and an international advisor to the Resilience Advisor Network (RAN).

Research Interests: Dr Crouch's research focuses on CBRN defence, counter-IED, hazard management, decontamination, respiratory protection, and personal protective equipment. He is a key contributor to international standards development for CBRN through committees such as ISO TC94 SC15, CEN JTC23, and BSI PH/4. His work also encompasses filtration science, collective protection, and CBRN post-incident learning.

His research is funded by a combination of civil and military government agencies (including UK MOD, NATO, DTRA, DARPA) and private sector clients such as Boeing and Merck.
Labs and Teams: He is a principal expert at BSI for respiratory protection and CBRN standards, and actively participates in the Emergency Planning Society's CBRN Professional Working Group. At Cranfield, he leads the development of bespoke short courses for defence and security clients.
