Dr. David Lowe is a Senior Research Fellow at Leeds Beckett University's Leeds Law School, specializing in terrorism, policing, and criminal law. His career transitioned from a police officer (retired 2007) to academia, focusing on counter-terrorism, hate crime, and Prevent strategy. His research emphasizes extremist ideologies, vulnerable populations (e.g., SEND children), and international collaboration on security policies.
