Anna Garland is a Course Director at Staffordshire University's Health, Education, Policing and Sciences faculty. She holds a BA (Hons) in English from the University of Cambridge, an LLM in Family Law (Distinction) from Staffordshire University (completed part-time), and multiple postgraduate teaching qualifications from Keele University and the University of Gloucestershire. Her research focuses on international student adaptation to UK academic practices and engaged pedagogy. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of key professional organizations including the Society for Research into Higher Education and Association of Law Teachers.
Her teaching expertise spans Criminal Litigation, Evidence Law, and Advocacy, with specific course contributions to CILEx qualifications and Advanced Criminal Practice. She has maintained dual professional roles as a practicing Barrister (specializing in Family and Criminal Law since 1994) and educator, with advocacy experience in youth justice settings including Young Offender Institutions and hospitals.
