Andrea Morales is the Lonnie L. Ostrom Chair in Business and Professor of Marketing at Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business. Her research focuses on consumer behavior and social psychology, specifically examining social influence, emotions, consumption & contamination, perceived effort, and consumer reactions to retail environments. She joined ASU in 2005 after serving at the University of Southern California.
Education: Ph.D. in Marketing (University of Pennsylvania, 2002), M.S. (University of Pennsylvania, 2000), B.A. (University of Texas-Austin, 1997).
Research Interests: Consumer behavior, social psychology, social influence processes, emotions in consumption, and ethical consumer judgments.
Awards: Recognized with prestigious awards including Poets & Quants’ 40 Under 40 (2016), multiple W.P. Carey Teaching Awards (2011, 2015, 2024), and the Victoria Foundation Outstanding Latino Faculty Award (2011).
Teaching & Service: Teaches Marketing Management (MKT 502) and has held leadership roles in professional associations like the Society of Consumer Psychology.
Publications: Over 25 peer-reviewed articles in top journals such as Journal of Consumer Research and Journal of Marketing, focusing on consumer psychology and ethical decision-making.
