Professor Guiying Nie is a globally recognized reproductive biologist and molecular biologist specializing in female reproduction, leading the Implantation and Pregnancy Research Laboratory at RMIT University's School of Health and Biomedical Sciences. She holds a PhD from the UK and completed postdoctoral training in the USA, with an established career in Australia. Her research focuses on women’s reproductive health, including embryo implantation, placental biology, and the roles of molecules like podocalyxin and HtrA4 in fertility and pregnancy complications. Her work has been supported by NHMRC, industry, and international funding. She is a Fellow of the Society for Reproductive Biology and serves as an Associate Editor of Reproductive Sciences and an executive member of the Australian and New Zealand Placental Research Association. Her recent research explores topics such as endometriosis, SARS-CoV-2 effects on placental tissues, and trophoblast differentiation mechanisms. Professor Nie supervises research projects on fertility treatment, trophoblast differentiation, and cancer-related chemoresistance.
