Lisa-Christine Altendorf is a Researcher and PhD student in Linguistics at the University of Bonn, Germany. She is supervised by Prof. Dr. Fuchs in the field of second language acquisition. Her work focuses on the intersection of language, technology, and communication, with research interests spanning Audiovisual Translation Studies, Critical Discourse Analysis, Language on Social Media, and Computer Mediated Communication. Education: Since 2022: PhD in Applied Linguistics, University of Bonn 2019-2022: M.A. in Applied Linguistics, University of Bonn 2016-2019: B.A. in English and German Studies, University of Bonn Her research explores how informal digital exposure impacts lexical competence in German learners of English, with a focus on extramural online activities and their effects on language acquisition. She has presented at conferences such as the EuroSLA34, ICAME46, and the Anéla/VIOT Juniorendag, earning the 2023 Anéla/VIOT Poster Prize for her work on extramural activities and language use.
