Silvia Regina Rogatto is a Professor in the Department of Regional Health Research at the University of Southern Denmark's Faculty of Health Sciences and an Adjunct Professor at IRS-Lillebælt Hospital's Research Unit of Human Genetics (Vejle). Her research focuses on genomic and epigenomic mechanisms in cancer, particularly DNA methylation, microRNA, and germline mutations in inflammatory breast cancer and oral squamous cell carcinoma. Her primary research areas include: Genomics and Cancer Genetics (100% fingerprint match) DNA Methylation in Tumor Development (55%) MicroRNA Profiling (53%) Germline Mutations in Hereditary Cancers (52%) Neoplasm Biology (79%) Quantitative Molecular Techniques (49%) She investigates molecular biomarkers for prognosis and therapeutic targeting across multiple cancer types. Analysis of her 2024-2025 publications reveals a cohesive focus on epigenetic dysregulation in cancer progression, with recurring themes of DNA methylation profiling in inflammatory breast cancer, germline DNA repair defects in metachronous cancers, and methylation-based biomarkers in oral squamous cell carcinoma. These studies consistently link molecular alterations to clinical outcomes through advanced techniques like methylation array analysis and tumor microenvironment deconvolution. Rogatto has supervised 30 students throughout her career, reflecting strong mentorship activity. Her research involves extensive national and international collaborations, as evidenced by multi-institutional authorship on recent publications and network visualization showing global research connections. She conducts her work through the Department of Regional Health Research at SDU and the Research Unit of Human Genetics at IRS-Lillebælt Hospital, leveraging institutional resources for high-throughput genomic analyses and clinical translation in cancer biology.
